Jeez, you'd think they'd have sorted THAT out by now!? I'd get it if it went between villages in the same hold - maybe the guards would put out a notice of what's been stolen, but on the other side of the country? Without the Internet? Um... no XD
I can't really remember how the levelling system worked to be honest - last time I played it, I was just rushing through for the achievements before I started Skyrim XD But it did take quite a while to get anywhere.
I agree with you on the lock thing - making it more difficult for a novice to pick a master lock makes sense, but flat out refusing to even let me try? Boo.
